ESXi 4.1 Bundle Installation
I have a HP DL380 G7 with ESXi 4.1 Update 1 installed on an onboard SDHC Flash Media, leaving local disks for VMFS3 etc.
When I try to install any HP ESXi 4.1 bundle with vihostupdate.pl etc, i get an error :-
I/O error <17> on file var/tmp ........
Anybody have a solution ?

Re: ESXi 4.1 Bundle Installation
Hi
As per the command mentioned I believe you are trying to upgrade the host not installing.
I am sure this command cannot be used for fresh installation.
If it is upgrade check if there is an symbolic link issue for var folder or check if scratch folder exists on datastore.
regards,

Re: ESXi 4.1 Bundle Installation
Hi pjagadish
Yes the symbolic link insertion at root to /var/tmp was the solution. The vihostupdate apply then worked flawlessly.
Best Regards
