ESXi 4.1 HA - Windows Recovery Console
Hi,
I just setup a new VMware HA environment. My VMs are WIndows Server 2008 R2 SP1. When I try to shutdown 1 ESXi node to test the VMs failover, my VMs came to a "Windows Recovery Mode".
Why does it goes to that console? Each time failover I have to choose "start windows normally"
Any idea?
Thanks

Re: ESXi 4.1 HA - Windows Recovery Console
Hello,
HA works like recovery from unplanned server shutdown. So crashed VM knows it was incorect shutdown and must handle such reboot.
Anyway - I did not see such behavior in our enviroment, but we use mostly win2003 and win2008 (no R2s). I think you can setup your R2 wins to boot automatically as normal after HA crash.
