ESXi 4 Update 1 Embedded w/ HP Managment

U1 is pretty fresh. I guess HP needs some time to update their infrastructure.

u can just use the vmware vsphere host update utility

Exact. Install ESXi4 from HP, then use the vSphere Host Update Utility to upgrade to Update1

So, do you mean that the updates from VMware are fully compatible with the Hp VMware ESX/ESXi releases?

My research also indicates that if you start with the HP custom ESXi that the VMware packages will contain the updates, so VUM is the right answer and HP does not need to update their bits except to make the initial install quicker or cleaner.

I'm just about to upgrade an HP ESXi 4.0 (embedded HP mgmt agents) installation to ESXi 4.0 U1, and I'm also curious to know if the CORRECT approach is to use vSphere Host Update Utility.
Can someone verify if this is the correct approach or not?...
