Simpler Navigation for Servers and Operating Systems - Please Update Your Bookmarks
Completed: a much simpler Servers and Operating Systems section of the Community. We combined many of the older boards, so you won't have to click through so many levels to get at the information you need. Check the consolidated boards here as many sub-forums are now single boards.
If you have bookmarked forums or discussion boards in Servers and Operating Systems, we suggest you check and update them as needed.

Host Hardware status Unknown HP ML350p and HP DL380 G7

VMware ESXi 5.1.0 Build 799733

The Host Hardware status is unknown. When I click refresh it stays unknown.

When I try a reset it says Call "HostHealthStatusSystem.ResetSystemHealthInfo" for object "healthStatusSystem" on ESXi "" failed.

When I try a CLI reset from here

I get a more detailed a similar error

PowerCLI C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\vSphere PowerCLI> (Get-View (Get

-VMHost -Name | Get-View).ConfigManager.HealthStatusSystem).ResetSys

Exception calling "ResetSystemHealthInfo" with "0" argument(s): "A general syst

em error occurred: Reset System Health Failed for One or More Sensors"

+ (Get-View (Get-VMHost -Name | Get-View).ConfigManager.HealthStatu

sSystem).ResetSystemHealthInfo <<<< ()

+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : DotNetMethodException

This is happening on two servers.

A reboot allows the sensors to last for a wee while, but they will generally stop working a few weeks after.

Any ideas?
