Smart Array 6400 HP Esxi 5.1

I've got two Proliant DL380s (1 x G6 and 1 x G7), both with Smart Array 6400 controllers connecting to MSA20's.

ESXi 4.1 is working fine on the current hardware, nd I want to upgrade to 5.1u1.

However, I can't see or find any information on whether the Smart Array 6400 (or the MSA's) will work with 5.1

This document lists the drivers included in the HP 5.1 install, and includes the NICs and onboard array controller. However it doesn't mention anything about the 6400 card, and i've no idea if an upgrade will retain the current drivers or not.

I don't want to just go ahead and put the HP 5.1 disk in and install/upgrade if it won't see my storage and VM's.

Does anyone have any help on this?

Thanks

Carl

Hi Carl,

SA 6400 is not supported on ESXi 5.x.

Click here for the compatiblity of the adapter.

Thanks
