Updating ROM firmware on non HP-Customized Image

Hello, I'm hoping this is the right spot but I'm having some issues flashing the ROM  to the newest version available. The following is the error I get when I try to update it.

I currently have esxi 7.0.1 running on a HPE DL380 G9. It is NOT an HPE Customized Image of esxi. I was wondering if anyone had any luck doing the ROM flash.

OS Version found [7.0.1]
'./ESXi_7.0/LICENSE.txt' -> './LICENSE.txt'
'./ESXi_7.0/flash.so' -> './flash.so'
'./ESXi_7.0/hpsetup' -> './hpsetup'
ENTERING processing args for getopt
warning: other switches ignorned because -s not specified.
Flash Engine Version: 2.5.0.0

Name: Online ROM Flash Component for VMware - HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen9/DL360 Gen9 (P89) Servers
New Version: 2.80_10-16-2020

The software is not supported for installation on this system.

Management device not found.
Results of esxi_flash: 7

I have tried installing the HPE Offline bundle to see if that would do anything, but so far no luck. I've also tried SPP and it says the baselines are up to date, but the ROM say's it's a few versions behind.

If any more info would be helpful let me know, thanks in advance.

Re: Updating ROM firmware on non HP-Customized Image

You can add the latest versions to SPP and do an offline install or even install BIOS via ILO.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
