VMWare Updates using HP Smart Update Manager

To all,

Could anyone please advise if the following statements are true and if there is any supporting documentation.

1. Is HP Smart Update manager able to deliver VmWare patches and updates to esxi 3.5 host ?
2. Is the technology portable so it can be hosted in HP Systems Insight Manager 5.3 ?

"HP Smart Update manager" - I was under the impression that this was/is one of the utility's to deliver HP driver and firmware updates to the masses (masses of servers in your datacenter). I would think it is limited to "HP packages".

I would assume that perhaps if HP repackaged vmware updates into a format usable by HP SUM, it might be feasible... but I don't think HP would re-package ANY VMware patches unless they are directly related to HP hardware or software components.

VMware has it's own Update Manager for patches and such.
