uninstall vmware esxi 6.5 from a HP microserver gen8

Hello,

I am new to microservers. I bought a used HP microserver gen8 from Ebay and I want to install centos on it. I put in 4 new HDDs into the machine and configured them as in raid 1 format with 2 logical drives and 2 data arrays.

When I turn on the machine I can see that vmware hypervior esxi is installed. This shows up even when no HDD is installed into the machine so I think it may be installed into the bios?

My question is, how can I uninstall the vmware from the machine? Right now I can't boot from usb, so if I uninstall the machine maybe I can install from USB?

Thank you for your help in advance.

I'm sure there is an SD card installed. Please check and remove. You can even overwrite or adjust the boot order. Press F11 during boot.

Hope this helps!

Re: uninstall vmware esxi 6.5 from a HP microserver gen8

I pulled the sd card out (32gb HPE), but now vmware won't load, and it can't boot from the (front upper) USB key either... Is there a way to flash the OS onto the SD card directly? or am I missing something?

Thank you

If you want to install something onto the SD card the card need to be installed

Did you overwrite the bootorder? (press F11)

Hope this helps!
