CD-Writer 8200e, 150kbps with Nero

Nero will only let me burn at 150kbps. The drive used to burn at 600 kbps.

Has anyone else had this problem with XP, and Nero?

Nero detects my drive as the HP Cd-Writer + 8290.

Any info would be great help.

Hello,

Install the latest critical updates on XP. XP had issues on writing CDs.

Re: CD-Writer 8200e, 150kbps with Nero

I have already installed all of the updates...

I had other (worse) problems with Nero (such as not even acknowledging I had a burner) when Desktop CD Recording was enabled, so I disabled it.

Now I can burn, but cannot select any other speed but 1x in Nero.

I'd hate to switch software, because nothing has compared to Nero.

Try updating your version of Nero. I had this issue when I installed a semi-older version of Nero, however I installed 51.5.8.0 and I don't have any issues and can burn at the max speed of my CD-R Drive. Hope this helps.

I already have the most recent Nero, 5.5.8.2

Maybe I will have to email the people at Nero to see if they have another update coming that fixes the problem.

Does anyone else have the problem I'm having: Max burn speed 1x with Nero and Windows XP with the 8200 series burner?

all that you need - get wnaspi32.dll file from nero version 5.5.3.5 and lower version till 5.5.0.0 also works.......
and don't forget to put wnaspi32.dll in your nero 5.5.x.x folder to work

The above solution worked for me. Had the same problem with my CD-Writer, except I'm running Win2K Pro.
