HP CD Writer 9500i - red light windows XP problems

Hello,
since last week im experimenting some trouble with the HP-CD Writer 9500i. Here are the probles:

-Driver Dissappears from My PC
-After reboot light on cd-rw is red, even if i unplug the device and plug it again (ide & power) it will get red again. Sometimes light gets red while windows is working.

My configuration is the following:

AMD Athlon 800MHz
Tekram Mainboard
384Mb Ram
Primary Master : Maxtor 40Gb
Secondary Master: HP9500i
Secondary Slave : Imation SuperDisk 120Mb.

The HP9500i was working fine and all of a sudden stopped working. I??ve tried changing and using all possible IDE configurations (Master/Slave).

The bottom line is that the CD Writer 9500 works when it wants to.
