M Drive cannot be read at all!

I have two CD drives on my computer. The N drive is my default drive because it is the most reliable. It can play DVDs.

The M drive is the CD Writer drive, and can also act like a normal CD Drive.

A few days ago, the M drive suddenly stopped functioning. I can still open and close the drive, and the light still lights up, but the computer can't read anything in the M drive.

Anytime I put a CD into the M drive, the computer thinks the M drive is empty.... at all times. because now I can't burn CDs.

I tried restarting the computer various times, and also fidgeting around with the properties (enabling and unenabling things like 'DMA' and 'Sync Transfer Rate' etc) but it still is unreadable!

I think this is a hardware problem. Plz help!!!!
