cd-writer 7200e / Win2000

cd-writer 7200e / Win2000

I guess this must be a common query by now. Have installed the w2k drivers and new software, and removed old software. If the drive is connected when i boot up, either windows locks up while booting or i get a black screen with RGB stripes. Any ideas??

Never resolved this problem. Still just get the black screen with vertical red green and blue stripes on the screen if the CD writer is plugged in while the pc boots....
