dvd200e with ze5170

Hello,

I have tried EVERY trick on the hp support website to use my dvd200e with the built-in 4 pin firewire port on my laptop. I even got a warranty replacement after support decided the HW was defective - still no go.

I have since discovered I can write successfully with my USB 1.1 port, which eliminates a LOT of variables from my test scenario. Has anyone tried using this combination of laptop/firewire/dvdwriter and can offer me any hints?

I am in exactly the same boat. I use a Fujitsu-Siemens Laptop. So after MUCH research, I suspect that the problem lies with the Windows XP driver sbp2port.sys - although if you have found a work around for this already, I'd love to know about it.
