OS Versions and patchkit for Daylight Savings

Greetings,

I have two Tru64 5.1B systems. The sizer command on both systems reports "Tru64 UNIX V5.1B (Rev. 2650)". I assume that's just 5.1B and not 5.1B-1 or -2, etc.

In looking at the daylight savings time patches, I see the web page says that 5.1B-3 and 5.1B-2/PK4 are affected versions of the OS.

Do I need to upgrade from 5.1B to 5.1B-2/PK4 or 5.1B-3 before applying the TZ patch? Or go directly to 5.1B-4? I'm thinking of avoiding the upgrades and doing the timezone fix manually with zic as described elsewhere in the forums. Thoughts?

Many thanks,
Tim

Re: OS Versions and patchkit for Daylight Savings

Other people have manually updated.

All V5.1B varients report Rev 2650.

To check your patch level:

/usr/sbin/dupatch -track -type kit

Tim,

I would suggest you first to try upgrading to V5.1B-4, if there is no changes, then better to do manually. Because I don't find any changes after I upgrade my system to V5.1b3.

Tim,

Mostly all maintenance releases will be having same build rev number(2650), when there is changes in major and minor release, then HP will change the rev#.

also go throug this thread which discussed about daylight savings...
