Re: HARDWARE AND %USE CHECKLIST

1. CPU's: ioscan |grep -n processor |wc -l
memory: MYMEM=$(echo "${MYSYMBOL}/D" \
| adb $HPUX /dev/kmem \
| grep "${MYSYMBOL}: *." \
| awk '{printf "%.0f MB\n",$2/256}')
disk: ioscan -kfnCdisk |wc -l

2. top, vmstat, sar, glance

Re: HARDWARE AND %USE CHECKLIST

Hi Adrian,

For 1, use /opt/ignite/bin/print_manifest command. It should give you an inventory of all you have on the box. If it is not there then try cfg2html, sysinfo etc.,. Search forums for the above and you will find sources to download them.

The scope of 2 is unlimited. You will have to use a combination of sar, vmstat, bdf, vgdisplay commands to determine it. If you have Glance+ pack, it can help you quite a bit.

Re: HARDWARE AND %USE CHECKLIST

1. cpus - ioscan -fnCprocessor
memeory - grep -i physical /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
disks - ioscan -fnCdisk

2. cpus usage - glance -a
memory - glance -m
disks - glance -d

Re: HARDWARE AND %USE CHECKLIST

Hi,

Yes. Print_manifest should give you. Otherwise, use

echo "itick_per_tick/D" |adb -k /stand/vmunix /dev/mem

You get it in hz.

Re: HARDWARE AND %USE CHECKLIST

If Ignite is installed:

swlist -l product | grep -i ignite

print_manifest

prints a good report of what you seek.

Re: HARDWARE AND %USE CHECKLIST

Well, the word 'disk' is quite ambiguous in HP-UX's world now. In old days, we used to use 'entire disk' as a filesystem. With LVM and VxVM, the disks will be either sliced or combined to get the logical disks (volumes). Man page of 'diskinfo', 'pvdisplay', 'lvdisplay', 'vgdisplay', 'bdf' should help you in determining the disk spaces for LVM.

Re: HARDWARE AND %USE CHECKLIST

Hi,

Download 'cfg2html' from

www.cfg2html.com

It will produce a nice html page that you can download to your PC and open with your browser.

It will have almost all the details that you are looking for.
