Re: Webserver installation

John,
and for documentation you can use:
http://www.apache.org/

A lot of people use apache, because it also used with Oracle,but other servers are available.

Re: Webserver installation

Hi John,
On what platform?
In 11i there is already an apache installed, up to you to configure it, you can also install the latest version...
There is nothing difficult or tricky in the installation, read the documentation that comes with it.
The less obvious part is to configure it ot your needs but for that you would have to know what its for...
let us know!

All the best

Re: Webserver installation

I think for websphere configuration at install time will need a database instance. Other than that the installation on all the web servers are straight forward.

The only step will be to allocate a port for the admin server and http server to run which will need the
netstat -an |grep
to verify that the port is available/free to be used.
There is always something new to learn everyday !!
