(1) What are the rp/rx models supports hardware partitioning ?

(2) if we do hardware partitioning, can we create cluster (VCS, servicegaurd) on those logical server ? Is it a supported ?

1) all cell-based servers, e.g.

rp/rx7xxx 8xxx and Superdome

2) a nPartition is just like a stand-alone server (more or less).

You should not build a productive cluster within the same cabinet for HA reasons.

all of the cell based servers support Npars
and yes, you can create a cluster on these Npars, both between complexes and inside a complex, although the second is not recommended, it is supported.

A small clarification

From the links which you have given

"HP 9000 rp8400 model, which supports up to four cells in a server complex"

"HP 9000 rp7405/rp7410, which supports up to two cells in a server complex"

Is that mean that rp8k model support creating upto 4 logical servers and RP7K support creating only upto 2 logical servers ?
