COMPARE SWITCH 1920 VS 2530

compare how to choose between 1920 vs 2530?

should I focuse on managing features..... smart managed 1920 vs fully managed 2530?

or on layer 2 (2530)  vs layer 3 (1920 )

how to know which one is the best for me ?

these switches it will be used for a hotel there will not be an IPTV, we have few Ip Telephone not more than 5.

It's hard to say knowing essentially nothing about your network requirements (L2 versus L3, network topology, PoE/non-PoE, Gigabit Ethernet versus Fast Ethernet and so on...).

The very first thing to note is that both Switch series - the Aruba 2530 switch series (specifically only Aruba 2530 models providing SFP+ interfaces) and the whole HPE OfficeConnect 1920 switch series - were already declared EoS (End of Support): see official EoS statements here and here.

Just speculating you need just one switch at "core" of your customer network, a good comparison (See respective QuickSpecs and Datasheets) would be to chose between respective Gigabit 48 ports models (PoE/PoE+ or non PoE)...and then figure out major Hardware differences then move on an check major Software differences.

Edit: correction about which Aruba 2530 models were declared EoS in favour of Aruba 2540.

Re: COMPARE SWITCH 1920 VS 2530

Thank you for your reply

I have 260 points ( 30 A.p , 50 IP camera, the rest or data and TV..)

we are looking for POE , Gigabit Ethernet  switch ... I need 15 edge 24 port switch and 1 24 port core switch

I was thnking of (J9773A ) 2530 24 POE switch for edge witch vs 1920s

I was wondering should i focuse on have L3 smart managed ? or L2 fully managed ?

while (JL071A) 3810M 24G switch for Core vs 2920 24 switch

Re: COMPARE SWITCH 1920 VS 2530

Fifteen edge Switches (each one with 24 PoE ports)?

Didn't you say you had only 5 IP Phones?

You wrote 260 "points", I read 260 Ethernet "plugs" (entire Hotel?) which don't necessarily mean you need to connect 260 hosts...but then 15 edge Switches x 24 ports/Switch = 360 ports at edge...if so you will need a good Switch at core.

Can you clarify above numbers?

What type of uplinks (and how many uplinks exist per edge zone if your network has edge switches grouped together in zones/floors/buildings) you are exactly dealing with?
