Can't set a port to 1000mbps full duplex on 1810G-8 v2

Hi All,

I have a HP 1810G-8 managed switch which works great, but there is something i can't get to work. There is one port (router connection) which falls back to 100mbps after a couple of minutes and when i disable and enable the port it's back a 1000mbps.

I can set the port to not use auto negotiation, but then i am limited to 10mbps en 100mbit speeds with full or half duplex. The pull down menu does not have a 1000mbps option? Current running firmware is 2.10.

Am i missing something here? Do other users also have this limitation and is there another way to set the port to a fixed speed?

Thanks :)

Autonegotiation is more or less required for 1000BASE-T, so I'm not that surprised that you don't get the option of fixed-1000. From a practical point of view, I'm not sure what to suggest, apart from looking for router firmware updates.

There is no newer firmware for the router unfortunately :(

I didn't realized that it's different for 100base-T or 1000 when looking at auto-negotiation.
