DHCP SNOOPING mit DHCP Relay
Szenario:
DHCP Relays on the router in the Core-Network for multiple VLANs and I want to use DHCP-Snooping at the Access-Layer with the ArubaOS-Switch 2530-Series. (DHCP-Server is running on VM)
For DHCP-Snooping i have to configure "dhcp-snooping authorized-server". For example the DHCP-Server.
Did i have to set the interface-adresses from the VLANs with DHCP-Relays as "dhcp-snooping authorized-server" ,too?
Cause i mean DHCP-Snooping acts at Layer 2.
Thanks 4 answers.

Re: DHCP SNOOPING mit DHCP Relay
I had Procurve edge switches and a 3COM core - I had to add in the 3COM cores as authorised DHCP servers.

Re: DHCP SNOOPING mit DHCP Relay
The Core is a 3COM, too. So i have to add all vlan interfaces from the core?
Would be great if you could add the DHCP-Servers only... :/

Re: DHCP SNOOPING mit DHCP Relay
A 3COM core switch *is* a DHCP server.
Unlike other vendors, it doesn't just proxy the DHCP requests through, it actually acts as a DHCP server itself.
You shouldn't have too much work to do - your Access switches only need the VLAN interfaces for their local Data and Voice VLANs - should only be two there to do, right?

Re: DHCP SNOOPING mit DHCP Relay
There will be some more Interfaces to add, cause we use 802.1x with RADIUS to set the VLAN on the access port.
The work isnt a problem. I just want to understand the configuration :)
Thanks 4 your reply.
