Fiber link Up, Bytes RX/TX ok but no unicast packets
Hi all,
I'm working on a case to bring up the trunk link between HP procurve 2610 series. The fiber port is UP and i could see the Bytes TX/RX is increasing but nothing for unicast RX/TX packets. Checked through all the required configuration already in place. Can you pls share if you have experience on this and how to check further and resolve this issue? Thanks.
Switch_ABC# sh int 27

Re: Fiber link Up, Bytes RX/TX ok but no unicast packets
What is spanning tree status on both sides?
Your figures might be normal for an STP blocked link

Re: Fiber link Up, Bytes RX/TX ok but no unicast packets
Thanks for response, but the setup is only 1 uplink to the main switch and no redundancy thus i don't see spanning-tree is blocking since only single uplink.

Re: Fiber link Up, Bytes RX/TX ok but no unicast packets
What is port config on both sides? Do VLANs on both sides and their setting (tagged vs untagged ) correspond?

Re: Fiber link Up, Bytes RX/TX ok but no unicast packets
Its a Fiber connection. (Tranceiver swapped but still same). Yeah, vlans(Tagged untagged) & configuration already double confirmed is alright. This is standard config we use on many sites but issue only happen when deploying this site.

Re: Fiber link Up, Bytes RX/TX ok but no unicast packets
Show us the config for both switches, makre sure relevant interfaces have "description" set so we know what they are for.
Show spanning-tree on each switch.
show log on each switch.
