Changing number of logical drives during deployment.

I have quite a few BL460cG6 with 146GB drives RAID1+0 with 1 logical drive and I am looking to install a base image on the rest of the servers.  I have already caputered the image but is it possible to install the same image on some of the machines but change it so there are 2 logical drives instead of 1?

Re: Changing number of logical drives during deployment.

Do you mean more than one logical drive on the Smart Array, or more than one partition on the existing logical drive?

Re: Changing number of logical drives during deployment.

Just to add, if you want more than one logical drive on the smart array, that would be done with an array config job before distributing the disk image.

If you want more than one partition on the existing drive, then you could configure the image distribution job to create a fixed size or percentage, and then run a subsequent job to create a new partition in the free space.

If you need to add more logical arrays to the smart array config look at the examples in the SmartStart Scripting toolkit and also the config jobs in the Altiris COnsole.
