PXEBoot Smartstart 8.70 ends up in empty X-windows on DL360 G7

We use a PXEboot environment for maintenance. fo some reason on the G7 models the smartstart start screen does not show up. The iso is mounted, X-windows is running. It is even possible to start things from /mnt/bootdevice by hand.

The same  setup works on other proliants and virtual machines.

Any idea?

What method are you using to 'mount' the .iso. iLO card? Also, how much RAM is in the server?

It is a PXE boot environment, so the iLO is not used to mount the ISO.

Were using PXELINUX and using the SmartStart boot with the same options as described in documentation about the Smartstart scripting toolkit.

The RAM amount varies from 4 to over 32 GB...

Download is finally there, tried it. For diagnostics via PXE you still need the SmartStart, so we still have a problem

make sure to include the kernel parameter  noexec32=off
