SmartStartt 8.40 HP Insight Diagnostics failing.

Hi,

We have build a server for a customer and I want to test it but the SmartStart diagnostics is failing to load.

The server is a Proliant DL580G5[487363-421] with 4 CPU's and 128GB of memory.
And I am using SS 8.40

The CD will boot, but when I select the option "HP Insight Diagnostics". I will get a browser error.

"Unable to connect"
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server.

I've tried both the x86 and x64 CD's. I have created an USB stick.I have tried other 8.40 boxes but everytime I will get the same error.

Finally I used an SS8.30 and that worked.

So is anyone familiar with this issue ?

I'm facing the same issue and I have no solution for this.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I am having the exact same problem!!!

Fixed it!!! Remove all NIC connections from the server and try it, worked for me with v8.4

I work at a department where we configurate servers. We had this situation once.

The only connection we make than was an ILO connection.

But I can't recall if we had it connected when we ran the SS8.40 diag util.

But if we get a DL580 again and I encounter the same problem I will make sure it's not connected to netwok.

Thanks for the answers.
In my case this is a blade environment so it's not so easy to remove the nic connections in production situations. Have you found another workaround to this error?

Afraid not, we had to plan downtime for this server to do the work. i've heard it will be fixed in the next version as HP are aware of it....but its no good to us now.

once the NICs were disconnected it worked a treat.
