hp-snmp-agents don't support snmpd v1trapaddress (rhel) ?
On a multihomed RHEL 5.3 x86_64 and psp 8.25
snmp trap sended by hp snmp agents are sended with incorect source ip address.
I set the v1trapaddress in snmpd.conf, snmp traps sended by snmpd are ok (source address is good), but not the traps from hp snmp agents.
I search in the logs, and I found a clue in /var/spool/compaq/cma.log :
Jun 26 10:31:50 pinea cmapeerd[3191]: [hpasmpeer] Connect agent: cma
/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf: line 14: Unknown token: v1trapaddress.
Is there a way to force the source address in snmp v1 traps packets ?
Regards,
Nicolas Varney

Re: hp-snmp-agents don't support snmpd v1trapaddress (rhel) ?
I found the answer myself.
There is a configuration file:
/opt/hp/hp-snmp-agents/cma.log
At the end of this file there is interresting lines:
########################################################################
# trapIf is used to inform the SNMP daemon which IP Address to use while
# sending the traps. Use trapIf if you have multiple NICs
# configured with IP Addresses.
########################################################################
#trapIf eth0
I have uncommented the last line and replaced the eth0 by my interface.

Problem solved by myself
