Re: 0 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on symc8xx ....error
Please try this one.
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=254919&prodNameId=257763&swEnvOID=181&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=MTX-UNITY-I17320
Download the file and run it.
Choose EXTRACT and copy the files to a folder. Then copy them to a floppy disk (except the setup file for windows) and use F6 to load when prompted.
I hope this helps.

Re: 0 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on symc8xx ....error
Have you tried a fresh install using Smartstart? Use the Smartstart 5.50 CD as this supports all G1 Proliant models and will load all required drivers without any need for pressing F6.
The Smartstart 5.50 ISO image can be found here.

Floppy License?
Do you mean the Server Profile Diskette?
You can download this if you don't have one to perform an automated install.

Re: 0 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on symc8xx ....error
i have downloaded a file...but when the diskette is required from smartstart it read a disk about 3 minutes and any require a disk...i think that it not read...
I have changed a floppy drive but is same..
Another test is this:
Windows 2000 charghe only symc8xx driver, although i use a compaq floppy diskette driver for compaq scsi controller.
Then i have modified windows 2000 setup for don├в t load a symc8xx and force load a compaq driver.
The result is that windows 2000 don├в t find a scsi controller.
I think that windows 2000 don├в t support my scsi controller.

Re: 0 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on symc8xx ....error
The problem is a SYMC8XX driver that charged by Windows 2000. It├в s bad..or wrong.
This is a solution:
Create a diskette setup of windows 2000 (4 diskette) from windows 2000 pro cd rom.
In the diskette n.3 there is two files:
SYMC8XX.SY_ and SYMC810.SY_
Copy SYMC810.SY_ in your desktop (or other folder in your computer), rename this file to SYMC8XX.SY_, copy this file to the disk n.3 and ovewrite.
Copy windows 2000 pro cd-rom in a folder of your computer, example win2kpro (all files and all folders).
Into i386 folder there are two files: SYMC8XX.SY_ and SYMC810.SY_
Copy SYMC810.SY_ in your desktop (or other folder in your computer), rename this file to SYMC8XX.SY_, copy this file to i386 folder and ovewrite.
Burning all files in a new cd-rom.
Then...
Insert a floppy n.1...2...3..4...and your disk work fine!
I don't know if you must modify a service pack after installation when you upgrade your windows.. (but i think yes..)
Bye
