10GB card for Proliant DL380p G8

HI there,

We have recently bought some 10GB switches and wanted to connect our proliant dl380p gen8 ESXi servers to them.

The switches have a "normal" rj45 ethernet port.

I wanted to get 10GB card for the servers that could be used to connect (via a rj45/cat6 cable) to the switches. Can anyone tell me if 656596-B21 is the right part to get?

(It looks right but looking at the pictures it doesn't look like an rj45 port.)

Thanks for any help with this.

H

They're RJ-45. The specs page on that link you have shows that info.

Some of the HP 10Gb NICs have gbics for whatever optical medium or direct Cu connections, some have RJ45 for 10Gbase-T, so it's good you're double-checking.
