1600 Processor Support

I have just bought a prolient 1600R 6/450 with a P2 450 and i am wondering what the fastest P3 processor this server would support.

Re: 1600 Processor Support

I think Prashant link is to first generation Proliant 1600.
If you have Proliant 1600 with Pentium 450 CPU you can upgrade your Proliant 1600 to dual Pentium III 600 MHz CPU.
See
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/ProLiant1600/600-questionandanswer.html
for more information.
Note: "Thermal Upgrade Kit (PN 144003-B22) must be installed when upgrading these systems to 600MHz."

Re: 1600 Processor Support

Which voltage of P3-600 processor would be the correct one as there are different voltage vertions. What model number of VRM's are the correct part for the 600Mhz processor and finnaly what would the jumpers on the motherboard need to be set to?

Thanks

Re: 1600 Processor Support

You need 2.05V voltage, and CPU need to support 100MHz Bus (I think all 100 Mhz bus CPU's have same voltage).
But just use HP part number - Pentium III 600 MHz Processor Option Kit (PN 153555-B21)
I am pretty sure VRM included in Processor Option Kit.
And for jumpers settings look here:
