1611 System fan not present

Hi,

my Compaq Proliant ML330 is showing the error message "1611 System fan not present" but the system fan is installed and works fine.

I had to install a new power supply. Is there any chance that this is the problem? The system is booting as usual but shows the above mentioned error after about 10 seconds. No indication that there is a problem with the power supply.

Any suggestions anyone?

Hi Jan,


reseat the system fan cables. the fans connected to servers have three wires, 2 for power & ground, and one for fan sense & speed regulation. so, if after reseating cables problem does not resolve, change the system fan.
