16GB of RAM. OS is only detecting 3.83GB.

I have several DL 585 server that I installed Win2003. These servers have 16GB of ram, but the operating system is only detecting 3.83GB. I’m not sure why this is.
can someone help/\.

Have you use the Physical Adress Extension /PAE switch in the boot.ini?

Hi,

this may sound silly, but are you installing the Standard Edition of Win2003 Server? Standard only supports up to 4GB. You need the Enterprise Edition if you want to use more.
