1705 Locked SCSI Bus
Sometimes our tape backup fails and I have to reboot the server. After the server tries to Scan for SCSI devices it brings up error.
1705 - Locked Scsi Bus System Board Port 1, System Halted
We have had this problem for years now. I have made numerous calls to technical support, have replaced SCSI cabling, Tape Drive, updated the BIOS, etc. and still problem keeps occurring. I have to take the server apart and unhook the SCSI cables from the tape drive and hard drive cages. Once I rehook the cables the server boots up fine. I keep thinking that the SCSI board is the problem but no one believes me. What can I do?

Re: 1705 Locked SCSI Bus
Is the SCSI port on the main board terminated? If not, you need to attach the terminator directly to the port or attach a terminated cable to the port.
