172-EISA error on Compaq Proliant 3000
Hi,
Anyone who has experienced the pre-boot error code 172 - EISA Configuration Non-Volatile Memory Invalid Initialisation Aborted.
The system is running Win2K server and was restarted due to updates/hotfixes - so it was running normally prior the boot. Any solutions or ideas are welcome.

Try: Erase EISA cfg (nvram) and re-configure using SmartStart CD's/Floppies.

If this happened during a normal reboot, then this may be indicating the system battery is failing/failed.
If you have the system partition installed you should be able to press F10 after POST to reconfigure the hardware.

The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..
