18.2 Mb HArd disk Ultra wide scsi

Can the Proliant 800 support ? a 18.2mb scsi hard disk model MAG3182MP (FUJITSU) coMPAQ SPARE PART 160063-001.
I have 2 hard disk scsi (1 ultra wide scsi hot plug 9.1 Gb (compaq)) ,
1 (3Gb scsi II compaq) , but when I put the new disk , I got the message "scsi 2 fail" , "scsi 1 fail" , "scsi8 fail" with different combination, my 3 scsi device (2 HD and a tape DLT work fine)..

That drive is not given as a spare for pl800 - It's a spare for AP Workstations .

The ProLiant 800 can support larger hot plug drives in an external storage unit, so I don't know why it wouldn't support the 18Gb internal drives, provided you've got them attached to an array controller rather than the integrated SCSI adapter. Unfortunately, according to this document ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/storageworks/drives/Non-plug.pdf, the 18GB drives referenced aren't compatible. I'd recommend contacting Compaq directly at 1-800-OK-COMPAQ to confirm this. Good luck.
