1850r Hangs after adding second processor
I have added the second processor to the system I upgraded the hal to MPS multiprocessor. The system starts but shortly after starting the system hangs. the network activity light is lit constantly. Do I need to use the ACPI Multiprocessor setting? When I tried this setting the system hangs at the fist windows boot screen. Is there a BIOS setting for ACPI that needs to be turned on?

Re: 1850r Hangs after adding second processor
hi dan
1) go to system partition (f10 after post)
2) while in main menu press CTRL-A
3) select hw configuration
4) look for APIC-MPS menu
5) select: full table mapped
this will do the job
----------------------------------------
you cannot enter advanced mode (crtl-a) when you start system configuration from smartstart cd.
best regards
ernesto
