2 x DL385 Gen8 - 3 out of 4 NIC ports showing amber lights

Following an unexpected power outage our two DL385 servers were rebooted and started showing amber/orange lights on 3 out of the 4 ports on each NIC (on each nic it's ports 1,2, and 4).

Checked documentation from HP for this server and found no reference to amber lights.

Does this indicated a drop in connection speed, or something else?

Re: 2 x DL385 Gen8 - 3 out of 4 NIC ports showing amber lights

Hi,

There are two LED's for each port, 1 is always green, 2nd is either green, orange or off.

1 Link Activity: green = Lights to indicate link activity.
2 Link Speed: bi-colored
Green – Link established at fastest speed.
Amber – Link established at next fastest speed or slower speeds.
Off – Link at slowest speed, which is 10 Mbps.

In this case, try with a different network cable or check the other end of the connection, like switch or router, etc.

Thank You!
I am a HP employee
