2003 Unattended Install and Dl380g4

The Unattended install using 7.10 drivers and Support packs works great on dl380G3, but fails miserably on the G4's. If I have OEMpresinatll files on I get errors loading cpqcissm (the 5i, 6i Driver) if I turn that off I get no disk drive found, if I leave all on but turn disablirtualoems to on its gets startdss.sys error - UGH this same thing works fine on a g3 and the drivers are all the latest.

Re: 2003 Unattended Install and Dl380g4

I am using the smart start scripting toolkit and I ran into similar issues. Try the following and let me know how it goes.

Toolkit utilies:

Make sure the ACR utility and the SSSTKARR.INI are up to date with the latest version. My old ACR utility could not recognize the controller.

Make sure your cpqcissm is also at the latest version. It should be in the textmode folder and also the \drivers\scsi

The OEM pre install files should be set to = yes but also scheck the following sections of your unattend.txt. The following headers should have the following lines listed beneath them.

"Smart Array 6i, 641, 642, 6400 EM, 6400 Controllers"=OEM
along with many others which should already be present

ADPU160M.SYS
CPQARRY2.SYS
CPQCISSM.SYS
MegaIDE.sys
LSICSB6.SYS
SYMMPI.sys
TXTSETUP.OEM

Hope this helps.

Re: 2003 Unattended Install and Dl380g4

I had the same problem and I found the solution!
You have to put all driver files from the SmartStart CD (D:\compaq\drivers\wnet) which are included in the txtsetup.oem (D:\compaq\install\wnet) in the folders $OEM$\Textmode and $OEM$\$1\Drivers\RAID. You have to copy the file txtsetup.oem to the folder $OEM$\Textmode.

Now you have to add the following entries to the Winnt.sif:

OemPreinstall=Yes
OemPnPDriversPath=Drivers\RAID
DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore

adpu160m.sys
adpu160m.cat
adpu160m.inf
cpqarry2.sys
cpqarry2.cat
cpqarry2.inf
cpqcisse.sys
cpqcisse.cat
cpqcisse.inf
cpqcissm.sys
cpqcissm.cat
cpqcissm.inf
cpqcissm.dll
csb6win.cat
lsicsb6.sys
lsicsb6.inf
mega2k.cat
megaide.sys
symmpi.sys
TXTSETUP.OEM

It is possible that you have to disable the "Virtual Install Disk" in the System utilities, too. To do this, press "F10" during reboot and disable the Install Disk in the "Advanced" menu.

Re: 2003 Unattended Install and Dl380g4

Thanks for the tip.
Should you copy the entire folders or just the files in the subfolders to the root of the drivers folder?

You have to copy only the files in the subfolders of Drivers.

I found an easier way to solve this over here:

Re: 2003 Unattended Install and Dl380g4

Now I got the DL360 G4 running unattended...
To load startdss.sys simply add following to your unattend.txt
------

"HP Dynamic Setup Support Driver" = OEM

startdss.sys
------

And then add to the RAID - driver you want to load:
(TXTSETUP.OEM)
-------

d2 = "HP Dynamic Setup Support Diskette for Windows 2000 and Windows .NET",\TXTSETUP.OEM,\

startdss = "HP Dynamic Setup Support Driver"

driver = d2,startdss.sys,StartDss
--------

Now it should work out.

Driverfiles for Windows 2003 are located on the HP Smartstart CD rel. 7.10
\compaq\drivers\wnet\startdss\
