2500 or 1600

I have the above servers how can I install windows 2003 std? The systems are wiped out and I'm using smartstart 5.0 and selecting other OS. Apparently it is looking for a diskette?

Hi,

Start with manualinstallation
get drivers from
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/20_1126.html#31

then after standard installation.
Install PSP for windows 2003 that will do.

Hello,

You might want to create a 0 byte spd.ini file in a diskette for the profile diskette. For more info , have a look here

Re: 2500 or 1600

Do I use the Smart Start CD's or Windows Server cd with this diskette?

Hi proliant 2500,
I think the problem is that you choose "other" as your OS. You should choose "Windows 2000 Server"

You should do the following:

Download the SmartStart CD.
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/22678.html

Erase the system, and then install using smartstart 5.5 (choose custom installation and windows 2000 server. This prepares the system for windows 2000 with the F10 tools).

In the end of this process you just boot the server from windows 2003 cd and install the OS on the first available partition. (don't touche the EISA partition)
