2GB memory modules in a ML350G4
According to the ML350G4 quickspecs, 2GB modules can only be placed in slots 1 and 2, when slots 3 and 4 are also populated with 2GB modules.
Does anyone know what the reason for this is or could be?
I've recently configured a ML350G4 with two 2GB modules in slots 1 and 2 and no modules in 3 and 4, and there was no indication of any problem with this configuration, after having run the Smartstart diagnostics and installing W2K, just for testing purposes.

Re: 2GB memory modules in a ML350G4
Though I supplied a comment in BSF, I will post here too...
The quickspecs probably mean that you can not have 1GB or 512MB modules in slots 1 and 2 while you have 2GB modules in 3 and 4.
Having 2GB modules in only 1 and 2 should be ok... as you see.
