2nd Processor in ML150 causes boot failure

I have a new ML150 G2 3.0Ghz Tower Server. After installing the 2nd processor which is the identical HP part number as the one from the factory, the server does not boot at all.
Also, I hear no beep codes. I uninstall the processor and the server boots no problem.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: 2nd Processor in ML150 causes boot failure

Hi

This might be for the following reasons
the cpu may have not been put properly, additional cpu might require a firmware update or the cpu itself maybe defective.

That did it. Bad processor out of the box.
Go figure.

Thanks
