2nd serial port to DL360-G2

I have a need for 2 serial ports on a DL360-G2 with Netware 6.
I have an open PCI slot.
Can this be done? How?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Douglas,
Yes you can always use a third Party Serial Port cards by Lava or Startech. They are pretty cheap and user friendly.

Re: 2nd serial port to DL360-G2

I tried a Startech card and the server wouldn't even boot up. The PCI slots in the DL360G3 have an extra section in the connector, nearest the rear of the server. The Startecg card has a notch that skips over that section, but the rear bracket on the card is then recessed into the server from the bracket.
And it just doesn't boot up.
Does the G3 series have a different bus structure that doesn't support these older PCI cards?
What do I try next?

Old PCI adapters will not work in any of the newer servers (not just Proliant) which have just 3.3v slots.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

OK, I suspected as much. Now back to my original question- How do I add a second serial port to a DL360G3???

Re: 2nd serial port to DL360-G2

Update:
Let me ask the question this way-
Does anyone know of a low-cost 1 or 2 port serial card that will work with either the new 3.3v PCI or the old 5v PCI slots? Also DOS/Netware compliant.
If so, please furnish manufacturer and part number and source, if possible.

Thanks,
