has anyone tried 2x4GB memory kit(s) in DL360G4p –
I know is officially unsupported, but...

Hello, these are the only supported memory kits on the server.

1 GB Advanced ECC PC2-3200 DDR2 SDRAM DIMM Memory Kit (2 x 512 MB)
343055-B21
2 GB Advanced ECC PC2-3200 DDR2 SDRAM DIMM Memory Kit (2 x 1 GB)
343056-B21
4 GB Advanced ECC PC2-3200 DDR2 SDRAM DIMM Single Rank Memory Kit (2 x 2 GB)
343057-B21
4 GB Advanced ECC PC2-3200 DDR2 SDRAM DIMM Dual Rank Memory Kit (2 x 2 GB)
375004-B21

Other than those will simply not work in the server, and of course HP will not provide any support to a server with that memory on it.
