3000, installing nt 4 tse, can't find hardrives on 1st reboot

I have a proliant 3000 with an integrated scsi (no drives connected) and a smart array 3200 controller (5 drives). When in run the install for nt 4 tse, it finds both scsi controllers, the 3200 first, ide, then integrated scsi.

I can go through the format and initial copying of files then it prompts for the 1st reboot. It reads the boot.ini and then I get an error that says there was a problem with a computer hard disk configuration.

I've tried disabling the embedded scsi controller in the system configuration, and upgraded the firmware bios.

I suspect it's looking at the embedded scsi for the system files, but can't figure out how to get it to look at the pci host controller's drives.

any help would be appreciated.

Hello Janine,
Please clear NVRAM and rerun the System Configuration Utility if you have system utilities installed on the system. If not then you can use Smart Start CD or download SP19619 from our WebSite. If you do not know how to clear NVram, I have attached the instructions herewith.
Regards,
