380G5 P400 Raid 5 w/4 disks using hot spare
Hello all,
After assembling the collection of parts that arrived I booted my new 380G5 and hopped into the array configuration utility. All 4 drives are auto selected as is raid 5 but if I tab into the spare field and hit space bar I can't select use 1 drive as spare.
In the past, when HP would ship the server assembled and preconfigured with Windows I could specify Raid 5, 4 disk, hot spare and they came that way.
Is there a trick I'm missing.
Thanks,
Frank

Re: 380G5 P400 Raid 5 w/4 disks using hot spare
I figured it out. you have to deselect one of the 4 drives in order for it to be available for selection as a spare.
