387089-001 drive cage in PL1600R 5/500

Hi again, Thanks to Igor I've now got my server booting. Now I need to know which drive type to use in the drive cage.
It has a "387089-001 LVD Wide Ultra2 SCSI drive cage - 6 drive" cage in it.
I know which drive caddies to use but not the drive type.

Help?

Richard,
See Options-"Hard drives" section here:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/10035_div/10035_div.html

You can use Wide Ultra3/Ultra2 SCSI Universal Hot Plug (1") drives - you can buy these SCSI drives on ebay.
Important: you can use only 1" SCSI drives and not old type 1.6" SCSI drives with Proliant 1600/500
If you not find Wide Ultra3/Ultra2 SCSI drives you can even use modern Ultra320 SCSI drives (of course it will work with Ultra2/3 speed)
For example, in our lab we use 140 Gb Ultra320 SCSI drives in Proliant 1600.

Thanks again Igor,

Just to be sure then, I could use any of the following drive descriptions "80 pin SCSI ultra wide", "SCA" and "LVD"?

Are ALL Ultra320 and Ultra160 drives OK?

Sorry to be a pain, but there are so many SCSI types and, it seems, even MORE descriptions on eBay.

Richard,
you can use ONLY HP/Compaq SCSI drives,
look for SCSI drives on ebay.com according HP part number (you can see part numbers in Proliant 1600 QuickSpecs, link in previous message)
For example:
36.4-GB Wide Ultra3 SCSI 10,000 rpm Drive (1├Р ) 176496-B22

HP/Compaq SCSI drives have special firmware,
if you try to use NOT HP SCSI drives in Proliant servers - most likely you will have problems.

And part numbers for modern HP SCSI drives you can here
