3rd party SATA drives
I am considering purchasing the ML350 G5 (3.5" drive bay model).
Can someone advise if I can utilise my own (3rd party) 3.5" SATA drives? Are there restrictions on the raid controller to reject drives that aren't from HP?
Where might I find HP's support policy in regard to 3rd party drives?

Re: 3rd party SATA drives
Well, the main thing, that will disturb you are the hot-plug HDD cages - they are being sold only by HP and as far as I saw in the forum, they cannot be ordered separately anymore :) So yout non-hp HDDs may get useless...

Re: 3rd party SATA drives
Thanks for your reply.
I'm aware of the HP drive bay caddies. However, I've seen them on ebay and in Australia, HP still sells them separately, I believe.
Just wanted to know if there is special firmware on the HP OEM drives or not
