4 drives in port 1 and 2 drives in port 2

hi,

i am quite new to working with proliant servers, or servers in general,

i am trying to set up my scsi drives in my dl380.
originally, only port 2 was connected, and port 1 was connected to a jumper. I reconnected port one, and wanted to set it up so 3 drives ran on port 1 and the other 3 ran on port 2. i cannot seem to find a way to do it, help?

Re: 4 drives in port 1 and 2 drives in port 2

as of right now, it is set up as

Port 1 Drive index 0
Port 1 Drive index 1
Port 1 Drive Index 2
Port 1 drive index 3
Port 2 Drive index 4
Port 2 drive index 5

But, i want to set it up as

Port 1 Drive index 0
Port 1 Drive index 1
Port 1 Drive Index 2
Port 2 drive index 3 <--change this to port 2
Port 2 Drive index 4
Port 2 drive index 5

does any one know how i can do this?
thank you,

Re: 4 drives in port 1 and 2 drives in port 2

You did not say which G you have nor which controller. But it looks like you have the DL380-G4 with the U320 SCSI drives and the 2/4 channel drive split. The connectivity is setup this way for a reason. You set up a RAID1 (mirrored pair) with the first 2 drives and you use it for the OS and you set up a RAID5 group for the remaining 4 disks and you use them for app/data etc. I doubt that it is physically possible. If the 4 drives are plugged to a 4-connector SCSI backplane board and 2 drives are similarly connected to a 2-connector SCSI backplane board, you can not change anything.
