530sfp+ compatibility
Hi,
the compatibility list of the 530sfp+ nic says, that it's compatible and optimized for some proliant servers.
Does this in conclusion mean, that it's ONLY compatible with these?
Also; if this is not the case: Would it be possible to use the nic in an ordinary desktop PC?
Thanks in advance

Re: 530sfp+ compatibility
Hello,
Please refer to QuickSpecs of this product.
This product is compatible with few G7, Gen8 and Gen9 servers.
It cannot be used on Desktops or Workstations.
Thank You!

Re: 530sfp+ compatibility
Hello,
Thank you for your clear answer. I am also curious why exactly this does not work. Is the NIC only correctly working if it identifies one of the listed servers or is there a difference in PCIe?
Is there any HP 10GbE NIC that works on workstations?

Re: 530sfp+ compatibility
Hi,
Not sure when you say "why exactly this does not work". What is not working?
This card requires PCI-e 2.0 x8, Standard and low profile adapter compliant with the PCIe standard.
If the card is not detected by OS or any firmware/driver related issues, update the necessary software from here.

There could be more, depending on the Workstation compatibility, search here.

Re: 530sfp+ compatibility
You can use it in a normal PC. You have to put electrical tape over pins over B5 and B6 on both sides of the card. This keeps the card from interrupting the boot cycle on your PC.
