6i Array Accelerator Battery failure - Multiple times
When we replaced the battery, it was going to failed state within a week/months. Even after 3 times the new battery is showing as failed.
We have updated the firmware to 2.84(A), but no luck. In one of the case, we even replaced the motherboard and storage controller, but with no luck.
What could be the fix for this repeat issue ?

Re: 6i Array Accelerator Battery failure - Multiple times
Batteries has been replaced 3 times in both the servers. Whenever a new battery has been changed, it shows as charging for 1 day and after a week or a month it fails again.
Is there any other stuff that we need to take care?

Re: 6i Array Accelerator Battery failure - Multiple times
then replace with new battery let it charge circa 36 hours ,
check in ADU utility battery is charged .
ensure you get *new battery and revised cache module.*

Re: 6i Array Accelerator Battery failure - Multiple times
We will give a try with replacing the battery housing case and the cache module along with full system firmware update.
Will post the status later with results.

Re: 6i Array Accelerator Battery failure - Multiple times
"1783 - Slot 0 Array Controller is in a lock-up State due to a hardware configuration failure"
(Controller is disabled untill this problem is resolved)
I am not getting an option to configure the same and the server is not booting up now.
Any inputs ?

Re: 6i Array Accelerator Battery failure - Multiple times
1783 Slot X Drive Array Controller Failure.
Recommended Action :
If this message displays immediately following a
ROM installation, the ROM is defective or not
installed properly. Check that the controller is
firmly inserted in its slot. Check for improper
cabling or SCSI ID conflicts. Try upgrading the
System ROMs. Otherwise, replace the Smart
Array controller.

Re: 6i Array Accelerator Battery failure - Multiple times
Here are the stuff we did.
Reseated the SCSI backplane, replaced the 128MB BBWC module and started the server. At first this clears the ├в 1783 - Slot 0 Array controller is in a lock-up State due to a hardware configuration failure.├в error. But battery failure was still reported. We replaced the array battery again and powered on the server. The 1783 error makes a return. We decided to replace the motherboard.
The replacement motherboard is installed/configured but the 1783 error has not cleared. Looked like the controller is having a problem.
Replaced the controller and SCSI backplane, power on the server and observed the error has cleared. We rebooted the server several times to be sure all errors have cleared and do not return.
Will wait and see if this re-occurs.
