72Gb U320 SCSI drive Firmware update on DL380G4

72Gb U320 SCSI drive Firmware update on DL380G4

Hi all,

I have a problem with olds 72gb 10k U320 hard drives on a new DL380G4.

The integrated SA6i+ tells me on bios that my disks (model BD07285A25) need a firmware update.

I have downloaded the only firmware available at this url : http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/storage/us/download/21196.html

The problem is that :
- the downloaded file must be used by ROM Update Utility with booting from Smartstart.
- The Smartstart 7.10 does not provide me ROM Update Utility.
- A Smartstart 6.40 does provide me ROM Update Utility but does not recognize the SA6i+, so can not know that there are disks in the machine attached to the SA6i+.
- any previous Smartstart from 7.00 does not recognize the SA6i+.

Does anyone have a solution for me?

best regards

Download and install the HP Remote Deployment Utility (setupc.exe) and from another machine flash the server remotely.

The RDU users guide is here:

For informations,

the easest way is to download and burn the SMARTSTART FIRMWARE MAINTENANCE CD at this url : http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/subscription/ssdownloads_FW710.html

boot on it and flash hard drives.

thanks alls
