8 Gb Boot partition
Hi,
I am installing NT 4 on a DL380 with 3 x 18.2 Gb drives under RAID 5 using the integrated array controller, but I cannot have a boot partition greater than 4 Gb, unfortunately I need an 8 Gb one. I have used assisted and manual smart start installations, upgraded the firmware, and still no joy. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Re: 8 Gb Boot partition
You will have to go through the manual SmartStart process and then install your operating system using the unattended installation and include the ExtendOEMPartition=1 statement to extend the partition to the maximum 8 GB.
If you want to script your entire instllation, see the Compaq SmartStart Scripting toolkit at:
http://www.compaq.com/manage/deployment.html
OR
Just check out Microsoft's deployment guide for Windows NT at:
http://www.microsoft.com/ntserver/nts/deployment/planguide/DeployRoadmap.asp
Hope this helps....

Re: 8 Gb Boot partition
I am having a problem with the Compaq Tool kit. Did you customize the toolkit? The problem that I have was it kept looking for the Compaq Service Manager INF file which does not exist. Thanks.
